Who Am I? I am Greg, Age 26, Living in London Ontario Canada. I wear glasses that make me look nerdy and I think I have a sarcastic sense of humour. My favorite things in the world is cooking and sitting, and doing stuff like relaxing outside. Pretty general huh? Huh? My favorite Teams are the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Minnesota Vikings. And the Toronto Blue Jays, or Jays, I guess. If you would like to know more then read my blarg.

Lemony Goodness

Alright, it has been awhile since I put a recipe in here.  So I bring you one now.

                 LEMONS
lemons

They signify Spring and Summer.  They are great in lemonade, ice tea and pepsi.  They are great in Ceasar Salads and pies.  But did you know that they are fantastically good with spaghetti?  Come for a ride children, and explore the easiest way to prepare spaghetti ever.  This recipe is great for Lunch cause it takes like 20 minutes to make.  It is also great for guests cause you can make a shit load of it.

What you will need:

A Zester. Now this is not something that
everybody has in their kitchens but you can use it for a lot of things...like zesting a lemon.
You could probably grate the lemons as well but grab a zester the next time your at Loblaws or something.  They cost like 5 bucks.

I have changed the colours of the ingredients to see them.

Ingredos and Prep

Zest three lemons onto a cutting board
and chop finely.  Set aside.

Then mix the following ingredients in
a large bowl with a whisk.
- 2/3 cup good extra virgin olive oil
- 2/3 cup grated parmesan
- 1/2 freshly squeezed lemon juice
          *from three lemons or so
- couple pinches of the lemon zest.
- salt and ground pepper.
Mix that well and then set aside as well.
NOTE: This sauce can be made and refrigerated up to 8 hours in advance but make sure it is room temp when cooking this meal.

Bring a pot of water to boil.  While water is boiling you need to chiffonade some Fresh Basil.  Now a chiffonade is a way to cut the basil.  Because the basil leaf is so thin, the best way to cut it is to roll a couple of leaves up and then slice it that way.
The set aside with the lemon zest.

WHEN the water is boiling add your sphaghetti in; also add some oil so the noodles don't stick and some salt for flavour.  Boil the noodles until they are Al Dente which mean just under cooked.  Just grab a noodle with your tongs and eat it to tell when it is done.  Here is a topless woman demonstrating.

Strain the water but hold about a 1 Cup of the pasta water to moisten the dish.

Dump the cooked pasta into the bowl with the Lemon sauce and mix through with tongs.  Add remaining lemon zest and basil and mix further through.  Add a bit of pasta water at a time to moisten the pasta while mixing.  When you are satified the lemony goodness has managed to get all the way through all the noodles, then serve in bowls or on plates.  Not recommended to serve in glasses.

You can garnish the Lemon Spaghetti with more fresh basil, extra parmesan cheese, and freshly ground pepper.

That serves 4 people so adjust the recipe as needed if you are cooking for yourself of a bunch of people.
______________________________________________________________________

I have also gone back and put the direct links to the other recipes on the left for easy access.

Enjoy.

Yep

Here it is.  Monday again.  I hate Mondays.  The weekend has come to an end but what a weekend.  Friday night I got my Xbox back, now moded and kickin some ass.  I have 34 games on my HD and on saturday we played three or four of them.  Stanweeps, Hunter, and Walters stopped by for some gaming action and my only regret is that I only had three working controllers, which makes playing 4 player games hard.  Anyways, with a good solid game of Tiger Woods spoiled by Hunters contant wining about his controller not working, we took out our frustration on those fucking controller in my backyard.  I think Scott had some built up frustration cause he was swinging that controller around by its cord like a ball and chain...and the tree was someones face...and he swung and he swung and he hit that tree face with the controller shattering it into a bazzillion pieces.  Since we were outside anyway we headed down and played some friz down at the park.  Now it is always funny when I go down to the park with some chaps and there are people sitting on the bench that is near a small trail in the park, cause they always leave after like 5 minutes.  It never fails.  I guess they don't want to get hit or whatever.  We worked up a bit of an appetite and a sweat even though it felt like September out.

Sunday I spent most of my day in bed.  In a hotel room actually.  We'll leave it at that.

I ate at Mexicalli Rosa's as well and it was good.  That's it for now.  I'm really tired and I need to shower.  Today is shorts day at work.  This is gonna be interesting.

Later ya'll

Sitting here just thinking about...

So there I was at home, with no Xbox to pass the time and golf the most exciting thing on TV.  It's pretty boring but at least it's Friday and I have to work one more, hopefully slow day at work.  Work has gone by pretty quick this week I think.  Then again maybe not.  At work I have passed the time by challenging my brain with the fun game of Chess.  I have not played Chess in a long long time and now that I am playing it again I don't know why I stopped in the first place.  Wait...let me remember...oh yeah, it can be really annoying sometimes.  Not that that's a valid excuse I guess.  I always wanted to get a really good wooden chess set.  WIth a board that has really big squares and the pieces are big a defined.  The only problem is in this place Betsy likes to knock everything over and the chess board would be collecting a lot of dust.  I would only have my brother to play and I feel I would pretty much kick his ass every time...and if you're reading this punk, you know I would.

I am getting my modded Xbox back today.  I think it is a good investment, about $270, but I will never have to buy another Xbox game again, I will have lots of features that I can use, and I will have over 40 games at my fingure tips all the time.  No annoying: Get up off the couch, open Xbox, take out game that is in there, put in game I want to play, close xbox.  Ya I know, I'm a lazy guy sometimes.

I just read your blog dude, some funny shizzle.  I find it funnest getting really blazed and then writing about what's on my mind.  There can be some weird shit up in this head of mine that only comes out with help.

As I write this I have noticed that the sun has finally broken through the clouds for the first time in like 3 days.  The weekend is looking up people.  I am going to go watch the Italy/Sweden Soccer match right now so I will leave you and say Have a great weekend everyone.

Oh, and I received this cool email from my friend Shane about this womens bike trip through the ghost town located just outside of Chernobyl.  It is a really interesting read and I think you find it interesting.  Just clickety Click on the Linkety LInK: http://www.kiddofspeed.com
Peace Out

Someone needs to start a freastin blog-eroooooo!

My name is Greg.

I, like to watch sports and hate to feel angry.
Today at work I got really really mad at something.
I don't know what it is but I will take you through my day today

[ Wake up moderately early, like 10:30 the first time, then hit the snooze button until 12:30...roughly.
When I hit the snooze button every ten minutes for two hours straight, I start to have strange, quick dreams.  It's kind of like episodes you could say...at least it was for me.  I will tell you now that I cannot remember a single dream that I had this morning, but they were weird and cool at the same time.  Anyways...wake up and watch a bit of Euro 2004 with two countries that don't matter.  Say to myself that my bedroom is a mess and that I need to clean it...so I start cleaning it.   Now this may be gross to the ladies reading this (which probably isn't many but thanks{you know who you are :)}) but I honestly can't remember the last time I cleaned my room.  It took me pretty much three hours to clean my room.  There was a lot of dirt...a lot of dirt...oh God...so much!  I also did laundry and cat liter detail.  My entire spare time was sent doing chores.  Next it's time to work...415 pm...it's fine until I come back from lunch to get three of the shittiest tickets you will ever know...Like the first message I get from the first crack smoking whore is "I troubleshot for 6 hours with an MSN guy on the phone on Sunday and he couldn't figure it out so here I am again and I haven't been able to use this piece of shit since March"  I look through the past notes and this customer has tried everything, dozens and dozens of tech agents have talked to this person and could not figure out what is cauding this person problem...and then I get em.  I have no idea of how to even start troubleshooting this bitch so there is that helpless feeling...right in my gut, and then throw in two other shitty ass tickets and you have one angry Greg.  People around me are laughing...having a fun time or so it seems...And here I am over here with three shitty ass tickets and no fun anywhere where near me.  I considered going home, telling my customers to quit using the gawd damn service and go with cable.  I ended up logging out and going for a walk...for Ten minutes.  I took deep breathes you know?  I'm sure you've been there.  I'm sure everyone has had these days once in a while.  But why did I get so angry?  Maybe no time to relax?  Crappy tickets all day?  Maybe it because the house and especially the room is such a mess that it takes me three hours to clean it?  My room!

There is something else...but that's mine for the time being.  But anyways, I was really angry]

When's the last time you were angry?  It sucks.

Buuuuuuuuut.....

Tomorrow is another day.  I am actually glad that I got that out of me...today was really crappy but then again, I will be sleeping soon and dreaming...and learning from yesterday...and tomorrow will be another day...at least I hope.

Hey...This is a call out to the GD people...who-ever is listening...I am getting tired and need to sleep...but I would like to hear your voices...I know someone is itching to get on these blog things...It's fun and you learn something about yourself all the time...and it's recorded on some webpage that could get hit with a virus and I could lose everything at anytime server...and I would lose all I have written and communicated...but really wouldn't mind.  And I wouldn't mind reading about what life and culture is like in---as my friend Sean would say---The T-Dotizle---I looking at you Scottizle!...haha.  No presure man.  It would be really cool if people would give it a shot and not be afraid to say what they're feeling...I think this is more for me that for you...but I like it when people relate to me.  Sorry, it's the weed talking and don't even think about what I said...but I'm not erasing it cause I'll read this tomorrow and say to myself...What the fuck was I thinkin?

I do have someone that I think about all the time though...she doesn't read this so I'm safe...

Sleep

PS: I should have erased this one for sure...oh well.

Monday

I don't know about anyone else but I had pretty damn good weekend.  Lots of good times that I will try to remember.  I saw Glass Tiger down at Harris Park on Saturday night while drinking beer from a neon blue cup.  Glass Tiger sure are old now, but they still know how to rock.  We got down to the park at 530 PM or something and the whole park was licensed, to an extent.  I rolled a huge fatty to smoke while in the park but never even got a drag off that thing.  No one else from GD wanted to see the band so while I was away they smoked the blunt, containing my weed, and then left.  What the hell?  How would you react?  Whatever.  I think something might have been wrong with it anyway cause people were telling me the next day they were throwing up after smoking it.  It could have been a gift in disguise.

Yesterday my brother and I went to the parents house hold for Sunday dinner.  The only problem is my Moms wasn't feeling too good and pretty much lay in bed all day.  I got thrown into the role of making food for everyone again.  It turned out all right.  I was pretty much cooked from Saturdays Relay though to use my culinary talent to the max.  We also grabbed the A/C that Sean gave me last year.  The heaviest unit on the market, I think.  Actually they probably stopped making these models back in 1986 or somthing.  During the night I had too shut it off as it was making this really loud screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaching sound that was louder across my apartment, than my fan was right next to my bed.  No wonder Sean was giving it away.  O well, maybe it just needs to warm up or something.

Tomorrow I am going to be getting my Xbox moded by this xbox wizard at work.  120 Gig hard drive with over 40 games loaded and software that will let me burn more games in the future.  It will kick ass and I am looking forward to spending my summer indoors playing vids and listening to my old screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaching air conditioner trying to make the place cold, but only managing cool.

Well, getting ready for the work week so I'll leave you with this exert from a song written by Glass Tiger that I learned for the first time on Saturday night: oh, ohoh, ohoh, ohoh, love is life, and life is love.  Glass Tiger Rules!

And for all you paying attention, in my last post I put a pic of my good friend Scott and Joelle on this site and many of you, or actually all of you have said that there is no pictograph.  Well that sucks.  I am gonna have to find another one of those two Torontonians.  In fact, I have two pictures, but they won't be in Amsterdam.  Don't worry though, cuz these two can just get high on life.  They are completely sober here, it's there natural state.  Pay no attention to the beer bottles in the background.  Can you tell me where these pictures are from?

Have a good one you crazy kids!

Just Because...

So you wouldn't believe what happened...I wrote this huge long entry into this thing on like Tuesday night, I talked about the Tampa Bay Lightning winning the Scott Stanley Cup (how does it feel to have your name on the cup anyways? Scott? Stanley? You know, many a young hockey player has dreamed of having their name on your Great Grandpa's cup, I mean Lord Stanleys Cup. And you were freaking born with the name of the Cup man. Congratulations. ) and about some other stuff too.

I can't remember what else I wrote about but it was long, and then it all got erased in some fluke accident and I was saying "No. No! What the hell? Fuck this shit...nooooooooooooo!" and I walked away puzzled and angry that I lost so much thought.

On a side note...This week has been pretty blah...it flew by pretty quick cause I was in a daze. I got gurls on my mind man and when that happens...I find it hard to concentrate on other things. I work harder though. When I'm at work I say to myself that I got to get these girls off my mind and sometimes the only way to do that is to super concentrate on work and it takes the mind away from that stuff. But it's only temporary and when I'm on break I just sit at my desk and I'm pretty much wrapped up in thought.

Right now, I have two girls on my mind. Torn, as I always seem to be in situations like these. One girl I haven't seen for a long time, but think about daily, for months at a time. Sometimes when waking up, sometimes when going to sleep. The other...a women that I met two weeks ago who I feel like there may be some kind of bond with...or she's making it look that way. She's away on a 3 week trip though and haven't seen her for 2 weeks. She gave me her neckless to keep until she comes back. So, Yeah.

I'm gonna hopefully be seeing the gurl that's been on me mind for awhile tomorrow, or today, whatever Saturday is on the weekend. It will be the first time since the last time I saw her and, well, I hope she's at the place that she says she gonna be. It's the weekend and I am heading down to the 24 hour relay to support the troops. Teletech troops that is. I have participated in this relay thing the past two years and this year I will thankfully only be an observer. The 24 hour relay entitles that each representing company that is taking place walk or run around an oval sort of shape, distancing something like 2.6 kilometres in length, for 24 hours straight. It takes like half an hour to walk around this thing man. When you've been drinking...that is pretty hard work to do on a Saturday. So this year...I am just going to hang out, wish the participants luck, and drink without responsibility. She should be there. Hopefully.

Scart, you should've been at my bbq last weekend man...what happened? I totally thought you were coming. I emailed EVERYONE when I wrote that email to everyone. That meant you too. And your Joelle. I mean: and Joelle, you should have come too.  Guy. What? Whatever man.

For all you others out there, this is a picture of my good friends Scott and Joelle in Amsterdam.  Those lucky...

Everyone have a safe and happy weekend and be good to one another...or else I will...

ITS THAT WEEKEND AGAIN!!!

so anyway, the big ruling came down from the top and pretty much squashed our attempt to live an exciting life at the work place.

the board of directors, or at least the manager, said that freedom of website is not permitted in the work place.  I have been away for a couple of days and the reason?  I have to visit News sites only while at the work place in front of my computer!

First of all...do you realize how annoying and boring it is to read the news all the time?  Remember when you were a kid and the news was the worst show on TV cause it was so gawd damn awfully boring?

Sure, now that I am a bit older I tell myself that "maybe I should find out what is going on...maybe I should know what is happening with whatever.  But you know what?  The news is still fucking boring.  There are some tidbits that I can relate too, there are some bits of information that I find interesting enough to read for maybe a half hour.  But for an 8 hour shift...5 days a week...it's shit.  Time drags when you read the news man!

Three days ago I was play'n Tetris at olp.cc even if it was the Our Lady Peace website [sorry Karen], but the tetris and pacman games are fun.  And I was making trades and trash talking to the guys at work about the baseball pool I'm in at http://www.yahoo.com.

Now, I read the news all day and exclaim every 15 minutes that "IT IS SO BOOOOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!

Whatever.

It's the weekend.  Tomorrow is Saturday........I am inviting guests over........my true friends going on 10 years plus.   And we are going to enjoy what is left of the spring time.  It's late in the spring time for sure, and soon it will be summer.  But you know what?   It's still spring, and we are going to party like it's the spring....outdoors style.  "Hey Summer, take your heat and stuff up your ass!  It's still spring beatch, and it gonna stay that way.  Cool degrees Celcius.  Relaxing in the Sun....and having it 24 degrees instead of 38 degrees.

Sorry, I think I got carried away...

What was I saying?  Oh yeah, I am cooking the shit tomorrow.  This is a bring your own meat product to grill party.......cause I got the other stuff covered.    Grilled Asparagus with Sesame, and Potatoes with Bacon, Onion, Tumeric, and Chives.  It's so good you'll crap your pants.

Moving on:  The guy in the photo from the last entry made back when?  That's right.....ROCKIN ROGER WARDELL!!!!

Picture this:  It's Tuesday and I'm looking for pictures of the Toronto Maple Leafs on Google image search, and I'm looking and I'm looking, and then I  look at the website one of these pictures was from...and I saw this: http://www.rogerwardell.com/about.htm

This guy was in my grade 12 and OAC english class and did the morning announcements at Strathroy. District. Collegiate. Institute.  Or high school.  He now covers my most beloved team.  If I could go back in time I would.

I'm gonna go pass out.  If I don't talk to yeah...have a safe weekend...and Cheers...even you Yankees fans.

Wednesday

So I find myself watching more and more baseball highlights on the sports channel every night...I got nothing else to do right?  Anyways, with hockey moving off to Never Never again land, and basketball coming to a boring close (The Pistons are going to lose in 5), there isn't really anything else to do.  I started this Fantasy Ball League with some buddies of mine, and it is actually doing the trick, it is bringing me back to what I grew up watching.  Earlier on in life I lived in Komoka, a small town that had two baseball diamonds and no hockey rinks.  Sure, we could drive to neighboring Mt. Bridges and play hockey, but I think with my parents working different shifts a lot, baseball with the thing to invest the money in.  I loved baseball back then...it definitely couldn't get any better than when the Blue Jays won the World Series against Atlanta in 92, and then actually following it up with one of the best World Series moments in history!  You remember don't you?  Picture it:

It's the bottom of the 9th inning at the Skydome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  The world is watching.  The Blue Jays are down 6-5.  Joe Carter smacks a 3 run shot over the left field wall and The Blue Jays win the World Series again.  The sold out crowd exploded and I guarantee you that was one hell of a party.  I was in grade 9 and 10 in high school at the time so my party was to bang pots with my little brothers out in Komoka and drinking a lot of pop

But then there was the stupid labour thing, the players went on strike, and there was no World Series the year after that.  Greedy players.  Greedy owners.   And it cost the fans half a season, the playoffs, and a World Series.  The Blue Jays had a great team that year too, and believe it or not the Montreal Expos were the best team in baseball.   Bull shit man.  I do not want the same thing to happen to hockey...it is really going to suck come October and still have no hockey.  No Leafs.

In more exciting news, yesterday I went and had supper at a fast food joint for the first time and tried something that I have never had before.  Sure, it wasn’t a huge jump into the unknown, but it was definitely better that the regular fast food at supper options of McDonalds, Wendy’s etc.  I went into a Middle Eastern Pita Pita joint and asked for the best thing on the menu.  I got the Chicken Shawara with everything on top and flavoured rice instead of French fries.  It was really good a I think I will go back again.  It cost about the same as a Big Mac Combo.  I try and do that once in a while, go out and try something new to eat…take a chance.  Open your mind and dig in.  If you don’t like it, then you know, but if you do like it you will be rewarded with a option for lunch or supper.

Like Ninjas?  Me Too.  Here is a link to the best factual ninja site on the Internet.  You may learn something about these deadly warriors.

It is actually a lot of bullshit and made up off the top of the authors head.  Take a look at the Hatemail section...it is really funny how many people get offended when you publish funny shit.  I really doubt the guy or guys that made this site were trying to be serious.  They sound like kids so get a life people.

I feel really tired at work right now and would love nothing better than to go back to bed because it was uber comfortable today and getting up was a chore.  My allergies have been kicking in and I sneezed so much at work yesterday that my throught is sore.  I am not happy.  Life sucks!!

Oh yeah, the answer to the riddle from last Thurday is A Coffin

Later.

Does anyone that went to S.D.C.I.recognize
who this guy is right here?

Killer Keg Party

So there I was just minding my own biznuss and drinking my beer on Friday night of the May 24 weekend, when these two hooligans jump me from behind in the kitchen.  They came at me hard from both sides and I was thrown into the fridge, the wall, the counter, and then the floor.  I was hit with everything including the kitchen sink at one point...I think.  After what seemed like an eternity of getting my ass kicked, I was then put in the dreaded Sleeper-Hold-Arm-Bar Combo maneuver.  It was at that point that I knew I wasn’t just dealing with petty thieves here, this was some serious shit and I knew that if I was ever going to drink beer again that night, I needed to dig deep into my bag of tricks.  Looking back now, it scares me to see how close I came to unconsciousness, and believe me; I don’t think that was the party to be unconscious at.

Somehow I gathered my strength.  Somehow, I turned the tide of the battle.  I first got the big Gorilla off my back that had the choke on me, and reversed the hold around on the clown that was about to pop my elbow.  I moved on instinct and everything happened so fast that I can't remember how it went down.  My body was a weapon, and I soon choked out the one dude...WITH A REVERSE SCORPION D12 HOLD!!!

With my rage at an all time high I sprang to my feet just in time to block a strong left punch by the Baetz Motel as I would later learn was the beast's nickname.  In response I threw my own combos of punches and kicks that were all easily turned aside.  Back and Forth went the volleys of ninja style moves.  I started to wear out, my body just couldn’t keep up this pace.  Luckily I noticed the same thing about my opponent.  In desperation I tried to reason with the man-beast.

Hey Man-Beast...er...Hey dude?  Why did you guys fucking attack me man?
The guy stopped and I could see that he was actually a drunk dude, named Shane, and not moving on the ground was his buddy Chris.  It turns out that I had grabbed one of their beer glass and was about to drink from it instead of my own...a common mistake at "Keg Parties".

It was my negligence almost cost these guys their beers, and I know what that can do to a man that wanted so desperately to belong.   I grabbed the glass holding the beer and handed it to Shane, and then I put Chris's beer next to his head on the ground for when he awoke.  And we all became drinking buddies when I grabbed my own cup of beer...and drank from it.

That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

You wouldn't believe what happened between those guys after that...but if you cough up the dough?  You can get the VHS.

THE END.

Please note, the above tale is possibly a work of fiction and may or may not have occured on a Friday night...or at a keg party...or at all.  Wark.

Like I said...

I'm sorry...even though I said don't go and do what I told you not to do...something just can't be ignored I guess...you know what I'm talking about.  I apologize that some of you looked up what a goatse is...but you can't say I didn't warn you.

I hope everyone had a good weekend.  It's bombs away again back into the work week:

On Saturday Hunter and I went down to cheer on the Teletech group at corporate challenge.  They did really well, except for that one teletech group,  and I had a good time drinking beer in the Sun rooting for them.  Now it is kinda funny that there are a bunch of people who will be walking around the techy work place with racoon eyes from wearing sunglasses all day.  I don't recommend a point and laugh approach when confronted by one of these people, but a more subtle approach, like snickering when they pass.  hehe.

In other news, I didn't get anything done that I wanted to so while the weekend was fun...I still got a lot of work to do...I blame a guy that goes by the initials M.H.  Cheers.
