Sunday, August 22nd.
Back at work and loving it…
The start of my three day work week has come and I am currently assisting customers with their DSL service. Right now it is not too busy giving me time to share my thoughts.
My weekend was uneventful but not totally. On Friday night my friend Hunter came over to drag my brother and me out to a Stag party for another friend of his. We all met at the Trax. That’s the name of the bar that I will probably never go to again. I have driven past this place countless times and didn’t even know there was a bar there. It was basically a shack next to some train tracks. From the look of you would assume that it was right in the heart of EOA, but it wasn’t. There was one employee who was bartending, waiting, and bouncing all at once. Has anyone out there been to the Trax or know where it is?
At least it had a patio.
Saturday was pretty much spent doing as little as possible. I must save money as I only have a limited amount of the stuff until my next pay day two weeks from now. I hate living paycheck to paycheck.
Right now the Olympics are on TV and I am sorry to say that Canada has been having a rough go of it this time around. I think we got our first gold today for floor exercise in gymnastic so way to go. We should do all right when speed skating comes up though, two years from now.

It’s day two of my three-day workweek. We got our shift selections today. I am ranked 40th out of 52 agents. My odds of getting a premium shift are all but squashed and I am pretty much hoping for at least a decent shift. Fuck me I gotta get out of this place. I keep saying that I know but this time I fucking mean it.
Sorry for the language, but FUCK.
I am done now. I just came across one of the coolest websites to day. It is the blog of one of my favourite writers Warren Ellis. This man is a take no prisoner intelligent writer who happens to be a Brit. Nobody’s perfect I guess. He is best friends with Garth Ennis who is another fav of mine and author of the Preacher series. He has written some of my favorite comic series including Transmetropolitan and Planetary. There is currently a pilot for a show being produced in Vancouver called Global Frequency and if Ellis has anything to do with the writing, then at least the dialog will be good. I am going to put his Blog on the left side of my blog but here is the link if you want to take a look: http://www.diepunyhumans.com/ and here is another link to his webpage: http://www.warrenellis.com/
Here is some examples of his work:

I am hopefully playing golf this week.

I should be happy today because it is my Friday and I have the next 5 four days off. I just checked My budget and I am coming up short in paying some bills. I hate when this happens because now I am pretty much broke until my next payday. This is not how things are supposed to be. What can I do though, I guess I have let this happen to myself I know. I over extended my budget and now I have to pay for it.
Working at the same rate of pay for going on three years will no advancement is getting to me. I am going to see what I can do to get out of here. Again.

And Another one is five minutes. Man I type fast.
Today is Tuesday and I am tired a hell. Not the tired you feel at night when you want to go to sleep. Well, there is some of that but the tired I am talking about is the whole body tired. Yesterday my bro and I hit the links and golfed 18 holes straight at Oxbo Glenn golf and country club. We walked it. That is the most walking I have done so far this year. I did better than last time but I am pretty frustrated at my short game. My shots when close to the green are the worse part of my game, actually I should probably through in my putting as well, cause I should never ever 4 put on any freaking golf green. So anyways. I shot 110 on a Par 72 golf course. Ugh. But it is only my second time out this year.
One good story is we were asked to play through a group of 6 guys who were having a pretty hard time of hitting their golf balls straight or very far for that matter. I was up first. My drives that day had been very hit any miss, I would either slice it or hook it. It was pretty much a coin toss. I don’t think I had hit a fairway yet with my Driver and this was going onto the 15h hole, a Par 5.
One of the guys who had been drinking was talking a lot and arguing with his other buddy’s when they told him to shut up. This is pretty distracting when trying not to fuck up your tee shot. I hit the worse shot I could, I sliced that ball to the right, far to the right, two fairways over and then into the woods. It sucked. I hate when people are watching me tee off. My brother shot next and hit a pretty good drive down the left side of the fairway. Not willing to setting for that piece of shit shot I had just hit I asked the guys if I could go again. This time no one was talking and I smacked that golf ball straight down the middle of the fairway. I was my best shot of the entire round(not counting the 25 ft putt that I nailed on the 9th whole). When I get a hold of the ball and hit it straight I can nail it with a result much to my liking. The moral of the story? When you hit a shitty shot, hit a good shot next. It’s easy.
Thank the good Lord above for payday tomorrow. I am almost of the opinion that payday should be capitalized. One more day and I get to spend money again.
My Journal of Taking the Steps required to buy My First house.
Approval for Down-Payment
I am waiting to hear back from some woman about my approval for a down payment on a house. I talked to my good Uncle Pat last week and he referred me to this woman who gives some good rates, is local and a good friend of his. Trusting my uncle I called her up on Tuesday of this week and we had a talk. She was pretty nice and we talked about how we could make this work. She took down my info and said she would get back to me. So far there is no word.
I really have to be honest and say that the idea of finally getting my own house/property is very appealing to me. I hope that I am not getting in over my head but at this point in my life it is the only “next step” that I am willing to make. I have lived in my current apartment for the last three years with my brother Brad who in that time has become one of my best friends as well. Our apartment is a bit slow though and I am not willing to move into another apartment. My Bro and I get along pretty good and we are going to go in on this adventure together, putting the house in both our names. I will try and document what steps I go through so that it may help others if and when they ever want to get a house. There is a lot of responsibility in owning a home but I think I am ready. Time will tell.
I am guessing that the best I will be able to hope for getting is something along the lines of a bungalow. I would really like a three bedroom two story home with a backyard, a double sink in kitchen, and a basement. I have been looking at a couple of websites to see what is out there and there are some promising properties available. I originally considered a condo but my uncle talked me out of it saying that you are still susceptible to condo fee that can be raised at any notice as well as a lack of what you can do with your property. I know a house will provide its surprises along the way but I am looking forward to the challenges this will provide.
I will keep you posted.

Delayed Message that I wrote on Monday August 9th...I know.
Great to be back at work again on Monday. I am bored. Today is the second day of my 3 day work week and it has only just started so while I only have to work today and tomorrow before I get 4 straight days off, I still don’t want to go through with it. But I need the money, so I guess I should do it.
I had 4 days on last week too, the first two days: Wednesday and Thursday were pretty boring as I did not have any money, but when Friday (Payday) came around I treated myself to some new golf shoes, a big bucket of balls at the driving range, and Ring a Wing for supper. Oh yeah.
Saturday I spent most of my time outdoors and it was great. I woke up at 9 AM to go golfing for the first time this year. I waited a long time before I went golfing this year because my clubs were shit and I did not want to use them anymore. When my parents went away on vacation I borrowed my Dad’s clubs and on Friday he said that I could actually have them. My Dad doesn’t really do too much golfing anymore anyway so I am glad that I have some nice clubs again. My first game out I shot 57 on a Par 37. Pretty bad. I did have some really good drives that made me happy, and I had quite a few cobwebs to get out of my system.
After golf was done we headed out to the McKeen residence for some KEMF IX action and had a blast. I was pretty drunk though and paid for it the next morning, believe me.
I hope to go golfing again this weekend coming up, maybe I can string together a foursome, but we’ll see. I
I need to get back to the driving range though so I can work on my short game, it needs a lot of work.
In other news, I am seriously considering getting a condo or a bungalow. I have been pre-approved for a Mortgage so the wheels are turning and soon I hope to be putting my own money into my future instead of into someone else’s pocket by renting. Here’s hoping.
Well, back to work.
Take care.

Movies
I have not written in my Blog for a while I know. You know. We all know. It’s a fact. The reasons? No time, nothing to say, it’s nice outside, I’d rather be bored doing nothing, not interested, didn’t feel like it, a repeat of Seinfeld is on, etc. etc.
The time: 7:24 PM Monday July 26th, 2004.
The place: My new desk at Teletech, right beside my old desk. Why did I move? I don’t really know, just that I was told to do so. I don’t ask questions because I already know the answer.
This past weekend we say the Bourne Supremacy. I am a big fan of the first movie and was really up for the second film hoping that the awesomeness of the first one would continue, and it did. My only complaints are as follows:
1) We were sitting in the third row from the front on the far left at Silver City…meaning that the next morning there were some kinks in our necks.
2) The camera work was at times very hard to watch, really shifty, using hand held cameras. Think the opening scene in Saving Private Ryan but taken to the next level.
3) Combine points 1 & 2 together and the movie was pretty hard to watch cause I could only see glimpses of what was happening.
Other than that the movie was great.
Friday we went down to Barney Patio and hung out with beer in hand. Now I am starting to realize that Barney’s on Friday night has an older crowd. I truly believe I was the youngest person there after 6 PM. At least there was beer.
Saturday we hung out around the pool in the hot summer Sun, I worked on my tan, which is coming along nicely thank you. I will get to work on it again come Wednesday when I head up to Baetz’z cottage.
I also made my Lemon Spaghetti for a bunch of people and it was a big hit. I think I will be making it again for another bunch of people a bit North of Sauble beach this week.
While at work today, I came across the following information about a certain movie that will be coming out next year. I believe that this movie is going to kick so much ass that I would cripple my own mother to see it before anyone else. Just kidding Mom. I would actually just take a sledgehammer to my brother’s knees instead and maybe the knees of some friends while I am at it.
Sin City is a movie being worked on by Frank Miller who was the original writer of the graphic novels on which the stories are going to be based. The cast is amazing and quite large.
Most of the actors that have signed on are: Jessica Alba, Maria Bello, Rosario Dawson, Benicio Del Toro, Michael Clark Duncan, Josh Harnett, Jaime King, Michael Madsen, Brittany Murphy, Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke, Marley Shelton, Nick Stahl, Bruce Willis, and Elijah Wood. Possibly even Christopher Walken.
Probably one of the better casts I can remember since Pulp Fiction.
Directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriquez with Quentin Tarantino possibly coming on to work on the third act.
The cast is so large because the movie will be in three large stories with possibility for some smaller stories. The three big stories are the original Sin City story featuring the character of Marv (Rourke), The Big Fat Kill featuring the character of Dwight (Owen), and That Yellow Bastard with the character of Hartigan (Willis). The whole movie will be shot in black and while with lots of shadows being cast and it may almost be as accurate to the comic book as you can get, frame for frame at some points.
I have read these comics. I love these comics. If you want to read them, you can. Just let me know.
There will hopefully be a preview or short coming out in the next few weeks titles The Babe Wore Red.
Three other movies that are generating some buzz in my brain are:
1) The demented movie called “Saw”, starring Cary Elwes and Danny Glover. It looks demented.
2) Blade Trinity starring the Nightstalkers (Blade, Abigail, and Hannibal)
3) Aliens Vs. Predator…cause it looks awesome and just seeing the Predator on big screen again will be wicked.
3½) Ray…starring Jamie Foxx profiling the life of Ray Charles. Looks good.
Three movies I could care less about are:
1) The Village…doesn’t look spooky or scary but I could be wrong, it could be good.
2) Resident Evil: Apocalypse…the preview wasn’t that good and after seeing Dawn of the Dead, this movie will have to pull out all the stops to not be cheesy.
3) Uh, uh. I guess I will put in the movie Wimbledon next, just cause I don’t like Paul Bettany. I think he sucks bawls.
Star Wars Episode 3 was named this week as well, The Revenge of the Sith. Not a bad title. I only hope I like it better than I have the previous two movies. My biggest beef with the new Star Wars movies is the space fights. Can anyone anywhere argue with me that the space battle at the end of Return of the Jedi was not the coolest space battle ever? Now it’s all computer generated and moves way too fast that you can’t see what the heck if happening. I say, go back to using the models and who cares how long it takes or how hard it is. Come on George.
What else’s going on?
I went to the dentist this morning for the first time in 6 years. I think that’s about right. Since I was about 20. The verdict is…no cavities baby, but he recommended I get my lower wisdom teeth removed. I told him I need all the wisdom I could get to make it through my days. He told me this whole story about how my wisdom teeth didn’t really make me smarter and that they are only called wisdom teeth because they come in when people are generally 17 to 21 years of age. I knew all along that he was only trying to make me dumber so he could get more money out of me, but I smiled and said I would take it under consideration and then got the hell out of there.
Wednesday I am heading up to Shane Cottage for some R & R and I am looking forward to it. It’s shitty that not all my friends could come up but with the restrictions Shane’s parents have put on him, there is not much that he can do.
It is now 9:35 PM. I am still at work and working tickets. But I am done writing in this thing and I guess I will try and actually help my customers out.
I will bid you all a fond farewell.
Ward.

Italian Dinner for Two as Promised.
First Things First – Grab your favorite bottle of Wine for this. I like White, but Red will also work.
The Appetizer – Bruschetta n’ other goodies
I recommend a stop to good old Angelo’s Deli. Ever been? No? You should go.
Grab the following and serve them all on a nice plate for presentation:
Boccochini, - these are small balls of rich mozzarella cheese.
Large Green Olives,
Thinly Sliced Proscuito, I usually ask for 6 slices of this stuff, as thinly sliced as possible, over the counter at Angelo’s Deli.
A piece of simple bruschetta:
- Thin slice of Italian bread, toasted slightly.
- Rub one side of toast with a piece of raw garlic to infuse the toast with the garlic
- Lay down some fresh basil leaves onto the bread
- Top that with thinly sliced pieces of fresh tomato
- Drizzle the slightest amount of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and then sprinkle salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese on top.
The Main Course – Bacon Spaghetti
The following recipe is a slow cooked recipe that is simple but really good. It’s Spaghetti with Bacon, and there is a strong representation of Basil.

This recipe is for a dinner for two so you can adjust the amount of ingredients to suit how many people you are making this for. As before, the ingredos will be a different color so you can pick them off when you read this recipe. Why do I do this? Because it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with what you have to do to cook a meal before you even start getting your ingredos.
First things first:
- Cut up four slices of bacon into 1 cm cubes. The less fatty the bacon the better.
- Dice 1 small Spanish onion or ½ a large onion. You want the onion diced small.
- Finely dice 2 – 3 cloves of garlic.
Get a sauté pan, the wider the cooking surface the better, heat it on medium low heat and add the bacon and onion. This is not a fast fry meal, cook the bacon and onion on low to medium low so that the flavors incorporate. Stir occasionally. When the onions start becoming translucent add your garlic. The smell should be fantastic by now. Continue cooking on low.
And Then:
- You will need a can of whole tomatoes, not diced. Notes: the reason I use whole canned tomatoes is because the skins are already removed, and by using whole tomatoes it give this dish a bit of a rustic look and it comes across in the final presentation.
- This is where your hands get a bit messy. After opening the can of tomatoes, reach in and grab one of those suckers and tear it apart into various sizes and add to your bacon mixture. You can use a knife if you want. If you are you don’t have to use the whole can. You can be the judge of how much or how little of the tomatoes you want.
- When you are done adding the tomatoes add two tablespoons of dried basil and stir into your mix.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper until you get the right taste.
You can add a bit of the juice from the can of tomatoes if you want but don’t add too much as this dish will become too watery.
Boil your spaghetti, using oil and salt in the water. Once the pasta is Al Dente drain it and add it to the bacon mixture and using tongs, mix the pasta in with the bacon mixture. Drizzle with Extra Virgin Olive Oil for the best flavor.
You can serve this on individual plates or in a large serving bowl. I always garnish with Parmesan cheese (of course) and some fresh basil on top. Enjoy.
Candles are optional. Eating outside would be best.
The Desert – You’re on your own.
In other news…it’s my Mini Friday. I have tomorrow off. We are going to the driving range to hit some golf balls and I hope to get rid of the cobwebs from my golf swing. Should be fun.
Here is a really cool site if you’re a fan a big a$$ storms: http://www.extremeinstability.com/my_chase_accounts.htm
I am reading the news and I see that the Director McG (stupidest name ever) has quit as the director of the new Superman flick…Good. He sucks…he freakin directed Charlie’s Angel’s: Full Throttle. He sucks.
I hope he reads this and sees that I think he sucks and quits directing forever.
Whatever and Anyways.
Take care, (that is my new favorite way of saying bye and I don’t know why)

So here I am at work on a Sunday evening, it sux bawls. I can't stand it. This is the first Sunday that I have worked in a long time and I really, really, REALLY, don't like it. I am not having a good time. I started my day off with a coffee next to an in-ground pool on a nice sunny Sunday morning, and then I took a dip in that pool and the water felt amazing. I can't think of a better way to start a day off. I am now at the opposite end of the pleasure spectrum, the bad end. Meh. Oh well.
My Weekend has come to an end but it was a good weekend. My weekend if Friday Saturday for all you not paying attention. On Friday I drank a lot of beer. I'm talking pitchers of the stuff. We started at about 4 PM down at the patio at Barney's. Some friends met up with us and we had a great time. There is nothing quite like sipping alcohol on a patio with a gentle wind and a hot sun. Later is was off to the Honest Lawyer, where you drank some more beer. On Saturday we went down to Sunfest in Victoria Park and took in some culture. I got a henna tattoo on my left arm just to see how it would look and I like it a lot. I think I will get a real one when I can afford the extra cash. Saturday afternoon I made hickory smoked beer can chicken for supper and we had some side dishes of curry rice and mixed veggies tossed with oil and lemon sauce, I didn't make those cause I was drinking. It was soooooooooooooo freakstin good.
My Parents contacted us today, they talked to my brother Brad. They have been gone on a trip out west for the last two weeks and they are now in British Columbia hanging out with my Aunt and Uncle. That's my Dad's sister who lives out there with her husband, and it's been a while since My Dad has seen his sister so that is pretty cool. They last time they probably saw each other was years ago. That would be weird not to see my brother of sister for that long. It should be another two weeks before they get back so when they arrive I want to have a For Sale sign posted with a Sold sign hanging there to mess with their heads for a split second. Get them back for all the years of parenting they put me and my brothers through.
So I'm reading through People Magazine today and I come across this really cool article entailing the life of a soldier named Levi Lohnes who is stationed in Iraq. He has been keeping tabs on what his life has been like while over in Iraq in a blog at the address http://leviraq.blogspot.com This is a very cool read and you should take the time to check it out.
In other news, I have been dating a lady who I like very much and I am having the most amazing time. My days off have been pretty much spent with her, from Sun up to Sun down. Anytime I say WE, it means her and I. We have a great time together and I can't wait till the next time I see her. Sorry to the ladies, but I am officially off the market without sounding too full of myself ;)
I saw Spiderman 2 last Wedsnesday and I gotta say it rocked. The fight scenes between Doc Oct and Spidey were awesome and there is lots of stuff they can do for the next flick. I wonder what villain or villains they would have in the third installment. My theory is that Harry becomes the Green Goblin and tries to get back at Spiderman through Mary Jane. In the comics Harry was not the best Green Goblin though so I don't know if he will be the main villain or not. I have a feeling that The Lizard will be the second villain that terrorizes New York City. The character Kurt Connors has already appeared in the second movie as the teacher with one arm so it looks to be a good bet. Kurt Connors tries to develop an regenerative serum to grow back his missing arm using reptile cells, and just like every other experiment in the Spiderman movies, it goes to shit. I wonder if there will be any follow up with John Jameson? I think he becomes something in the comic book but it's something lame like the Man-wolf or something like that.
Venom would be cool but his origin would have to be totally re-written. I think they could do it by Spiderman costume getting totally messed up in the next movie and then he starts using the black costume in the fourth movie.providing there is a fourth movie.Parker discovers the black outfit is alive and trying to take over his mind, gets rid of costume which then comes across Eddie Brock who Spiderman had inadvertently ruined some how. Should be interesting but it will be hard for Raimi to continue the great movie making that the first two movies have brought us.
Kay, I'm done. Take care and I'll see ya when I see ya.
Greg
Oh, and love one another! Come on.

This is my First post in...
Okay, to start off, the next verse of the song containing the new title lyrics are as follows:
"Now you might take offence, to a work like Fuck or Shit,
But you fucking don't have the right, to discriminate against me for saying it"
The chorus is quite amusing but due to it extreme lyrics, I figured that some people might take offense. So I decided to leave it out.
Anyways, the above song was sung at the McKean farm on Saturday night with the combined might of Bob playing a wicked acoustic guitar and myself who was wickedly drunk on beer from a keg. It brought back musical memories from high school when I was into Anthrax, Megadeth, and Skid Row.
We tried to sing 18 and Life but I couldn't remember the words, except for the chorus but that only goes so far. Thinking back.there is a couple of songs that I wish I would have brought up to sing that I couldn't remember at the time. One is Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth, the other is Unforgiven by Metallica. To this day I think I know all the words to both of those songs. Oh, and Bob you rock.
This past weekend was very cool. Went out to the Farm for some Sun, sports, beer, and camping. Let's see, Sun was great. Sports taken part in wereGolf, Volleyball, Horse Shoes, Hackey Sack, Baseball, Silo Climbing, and Frisbee, all were great fun. Beer was gone by dusk but was so so good. And camping, hmmmmm, camping. Let me tell you something about camping, or at least about sleeping in a tent. I learned a valuable lesson my friends, one that I will pass on to you so you can take it and use it, lest you end up with a sore back like me. When you have set up your tent, and you put down your base for sleeping which happens to be a couple of comforters and blankets, and you lie down on it for 2 minutes and think "this will do, that is pretty comfortable". Well, sleeping on that so called comfortable base will lead to you waking up at, in this case, at 6 AM in the morning with a face that looks something like this: (:O) You probably have to turn your head sideways to get the full effect of the pain the face is registering.
Take heed my friends. Invest in an air mattress, which will save you this from happening, cause waking up at 6 AM in the morning and having to pack up the tent and everything else and then driving 45 minutes home so that we could sleep in a bed...sucked. Come pay day, I am getting an air mattress.
That's outta the way.
Random Farts of thought:
I am going home to see if I can find a good copy of 18 and Life to download, I don't want to whole CD, just the one song. I will be better prepared for the next time there's a sing along.
Saw the movie Miracle yesterday.the true story of the 1981 US Olympic Hockey team with an average age of 21 winning against the best hockey team in the world at the Time in the Soviet Union. Probably the best hockey movie I have ever seen. The choreography is really good and the actors can actually skate, and play hockey. Sure the movie is about US glory but it's a good true story cause at the time the movie takes place there was a lot of shit going on in the world with the Soviets invading Afghanistan and the US Embassy in Iran being over run. It's hard to believe that this moment is still considered the number one sports moment in US History.with it being a hockey game. We all know how most American's feel about hockey. I just think it is ironic.
I also saw Lost In Translation.I am still trying to figure out the point of that movie.
Thanks to Dave for remembering the Bacon Spaghetti that we had at the cottage last year. This is another great and easy way to make pasta and I will post that recipe soon.
My youngest brother Tyler had some people over on Canada day.some people being over 100 at best guess. He did what I never could, had a massive party at the parents place. There were two kegs, ping-pong in the garage, fireworks. We stopped on the way out to Mike's place to see if there were any new holes in the roof. Sad to say there was not.
Greece won Euro 2004. I wanted to go to every Sammy Souvlaki stand and order Gyros and Greek salad to celebrate. In the end I didn't really care that much.and I'm not Greek.
My new shift starts at work today. 10 hour shift starting a 1:30 in the aft and going until 12:15 in the morning. Days off: Wed, Fri, Sat. I'm happy with it but Mindy should be sitting next to me and it would be that much better.
Okay. That's it for me.I made up with not writing in this thing for the last little while with a big long entry. If you made it to the end, I commend you.
Thanks to Andrew I have a new way that I can find time to write in this thing.
What's your favorite camp-fire sing along song?
Tomorrow (or in the next couple of days): BACON 'N BASIL SPAGHETTI.
Today: The Highwayman (the best Johnny Cash Song Ever)

I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride
With sword and pistol by my side
Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade
Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade
The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five
But I am still alive.
I was a sailor. I was born upon the tide
And with the sea I did abide.
I sailed a schooner round the Horn to Mexico
I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow
And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed
But I am living still.
I was a dam builder across the river deep and wide
Where steel and water did collide
A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado
I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below
They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound
But I am still around..I'll always be around..and around and around and
around and around
I fly a starship across the Universe divide
And when I reach the other side
I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can
Perhaps I may become a highwayman again
Or I may simply be a single drop of rain
But I will remain
And I'll be back again, and again and again and again and again...

Alright, it has been awhile since I put a recipe in here. So I bring you one now.
LEMONS
They signify Spring and Summer. They are great in lemonade, ice tea and pepsi. They are great in Ceasar Salads and pies. But did you know that they are fantastically good with spaghetti? Come for a ride children, and explore the easiest way to prepare spaghetti ever. This recipe is great for Lunch cause it takes like 20 minutes to make. It is also great for guests cause you can make a shit load of it.
What you will need:
A Zester. Now this is not something that
everybody has in their kitchens but you can use it for a lot of things...like zesting a lemon.
You could probably grate the lemons as well but grab a zester the next time your at Loblaws or something. They cost like 5 bucks.
I have changed the colours of the ingredients to see them.
Ingredos and Prep
Zest three lemons onto a cutting board
and chop finely. Set aside.
Then mix the following ingredients in
a large bowl with a whisk.
- 2/3 cup good extra virgin olive oil
- 2/3 cup grated parmesan
- 1/2 freshly squeezed lemon juice
*from three lemons or so
- couple pinches of the lemon zest.
- salt and ground pepper.
Mix that well and then set aside as well.
NOTE: This sauce can be made and refrigerated up to 8 hours in advance but make sure it is room temp when cooking this meal.
Bring a pot of water to boil. While water is boiling you need to chiffonade some Fresh Basil. Now a chiffonade is a way to cut the basil. Because the basil leaf is so thin, the best way to cut it is to roll a couple of leaves up and then slice it that way.
The set aside with the lemon zest.

WHEN the water is boiling add your sphaghetti in; also add some oil so the noodles don't stick and some salt for flavour. Boil the noodles until they are Al Dente which mean just under cooked. Just grab a noodle with your tongs and eat it to tell when it is done. Here is a topless woman demonstrating.
Strain the water but hold about a 1 Cup of the pasta water to moisten the dish.
Dump the cooked pasta into the bowl with the Lemon sauce and mix through with tongs. Add remaining lemon zest and basil and mix further through. Add a bit of pasta water at a time to moisten the pasta while mixing. When you are satified the lemony goodness has managed to get all the way through all the noodles, then serve in bowls or on plates. Not recommended to serve in glasses.
You can garnish the Lemon Spaghetti with more fresh basil, extra parmesan cheese, and freshly ground pepper.
That serves 4 people so adjust the recipe as needed if you are cooking for yourself of a bunch of people.

Here it is. Monday again. I hate Mondays. The weekend has come to an end but what a weekend. Friday night I got my Xbox back, now moded and kickin some ass. I have 34 games on my HD and on saturday we played three or four of them. Stanweeps, Hunter, and Walters stopped by for some gaming action and my only regret is that I only had three working controllers, which makes playing 4 player games hard. Anyways, with a good solid game of Tiger Woods spoiled by Hunters contant wining about his controller not working, we took out our frustration on those fucking controller in my backyard. I think Scott had some built up frustration cause he was swinging that controller around by its cord like a ball and chain...and the tree was someones face...and he swung and he swung and he hit that tree face with the controller shattering it into a bazzillion pieces. Since we were outside anyway we headed down and played some friz down at the park. Now it is always funny when I go down to the park with some chaps and there are people sitting on the bench that is near a small trail in the park, cause they always leave after like 5 minutes. It never fails. I guess they don't want to get hit or whatever. We worked up a bit of an appetite and a sweat even though it felt like September out.
Sunday I spent most of my day in bed. In a hotel room actually. We'll leave it at that.
I ate at Mexicalli Rosa's as well and it was good. That's it for now. I'm really tired and I need to shower. Today is shorts day at work. This is gonna be interesting.
Later ya'll
